This meditation invites you to treat yourself with the same kindness you would offer a close friend. You’ll practice sending supportive wishes to yourself and to others. A grounding practice for care, connection, and inner strength.

Settle The Body And Breath
SPEAKER_00This is a short loving kindness practice. Let's begin by gently lowering the eyes and allowing yourself to come into a comfortable sitting posture. Connect to the body sitting and breathing in a relaxed way. Connect to the breath rising and falling, becoming more balanced, centered, and calm. Check into yourself and see how you're feeling. If you feel any stress or anxiety, see if it's possible to let it release as much as possible on the next outbreath.
SPEAKER_01And then just allow your breath to return to normal. Now think of yourself as your own good friend.
Be Your Own Good Friend
SPEAKER_00We all need to be a good friend to ourselves in order to live the best life we can. So you can simply hold the intention to think of yourself with friendliness, with kindness, just like a good friend would.

Name What You Need Today
SPEAKER_00What is it that you most need today? Is it balance, strength, happiness, courage? What is it? Wish it to yourself just like a friend would. May I be balanced? May I be safe? May I be strong?
Send Wishes To Self And Others
SPEAKER_01May I be healthy. May I be happy? May I be courageous. Whatever it is that you need, wish it for yourself. May I be happy? May I be healthy? May I be safe. May I be strong. May I have good friendships.
SPEAKER_00Keep sending yourself good wishes for as long as you like, noticing how it feels, and noticing any feelings of calm, care, and connection being cultivated. If you like, you can send good wishes out to whoever you wish, just sending out good wishes to yourself and to others.
