Welcome And Practice Setup
SPEAKER_00Welcome to Inner Strength Meditations. For a little calm and care, we got you.
SPEAKER_02In this practice, we're going to experience something familiar with a fresh perspective.
First-Time Eyes On Water
SPEAKER_02Pour yourself some water and take a moment to get comfortable and relax. Holding the cup of water in your hands, imagine that this is your first time seeing water. Allow your imagination to go wild. This practice is about slowing down and discovering something new. Just looking at the water without taking a sip yet. Notice your thoughts and feelings. Take your time. Keep an open mind. Our thoughts, emotions, actions, and sensations are interrelated. Looking at the water, are you becoming thirsty? Are you eager to take a sip? Is it easy or difficult to have patience in this practice? No matter what thoughts or feelings arise, just notice.
Defining Mindfulness In Action
SPEAKER_02This is the practice of mindfulness, noticing what's happening in our mind, noticing our sensations and feelings, being present with what we are doing.
SPEAKER_01With a sense of wonder, take your first sip. Continue noticing any sensations or thoughts that arise. Does the water feel cool or warm? Take your time. Continue slowly drinking the rest of your water at your own pace.
